What is an Iron Deficiency test, and how does it work?

Our Iron Deficiency test measures the iron -HB/HbO2 levels and determines the levels of haemoglobin within your blood, which provides an indication of anaemia. If low levels of haemoglobin is detected this may indicate anaemia, if this is concluded then treatment may be required to increase this to satisfactory levels.

Please be aware that this test requires a small blood sample to be taken, this is done via either a finger prick or drawing from a vein by our qualified staff.

Why this test is beneficial

Iron tests are often used to check if your iron levels are too low, or if there is a potential indicator of anaemia within your blood, however, it can also detect if your iron levels are too high.
